As someone raised in New York, a former NYPD officer, and having raised my family there, September 11th will always hold a sacred place in my heart. That day shaped not only our city, but our lives forever. We remember the innocent lives lost, the families forever changed, and the heroes who ran toward danger with courage.
I remember where I was. I remember rushing to pick up my children from school out of panic because we lived just over a bridge from Manhattan. I remember the dark grey skies filled with smoke and watching the tv just praying and crying out to the Lord.
On this day of remembrance, let us join in prayer:
🙏 “Father, we lift up every family that carries the weight of loss from that tragic day. We pray Your comfort surrounds them, and Your peace floods their hearts. Protect this nation, O Lord, and let unity, strength, and hope continue to rise from the ashes. May Your hand be upon New York, America, and every soul that still feels the pain of that moment. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
New York is my home. I will always stand with my city and my country, remembering, honoring, and declaring: we will never forget. 🕊️
